DC Bound

Fri Dec 19, 2008, 1:49 AM
It's 5AM and in 4 hours I'll be waking up so that I can begin a 12 hour drive with my brother. We will be visiting our dad for the last time. If I see him again it will likely be in a casket. At this point, I'm not even sure if he'll be alive when we get there tomorrow. I have a suit packed just in case.

What do you get your father for his last christmas on earth? I don't know. If he's even conscious and capable of cognitive I will be somewhat surprised. Perhaps I'll just find something the three of us can blow up. That's always a good father/son activity.

I'll see you all when I get back. Have a good weekend and a happy holiday.

i think the fact that your there is worth more than any materialistic belonging, so i would say nothing or perhaps a card, your a writer im pretty sure you could come up with something great to put in there, sometimes the best gifts are those with thought and words always have to have some thought behind them
